How long do visits take?
New patient visits can take up to an hour while established patients typically last 30 minutes.
Patient Education
We believe the more the patient knows and understands the better the patient will be able to govern their own care and determine when a return visit is warranted.
How do I dress?
Loose fitting clothing, no metal components like belt buckles, zippers, buttons or dense materials like crystals, gems, etc. Otherwise, the use of a gown may be necessary during the imaging part of your visit.
Why are X-rays needed?
X-rays are generally needed for two reasons when seeking chiropractic care. Imaging of the area of complaint is standard practice for the evaluation of the are suspected of generating pain. Also determining if the patient is healthy and structurally sound enough to endure the treatment is also standard practice. The bottom line is we want to ensure to the best of our ability the lowest risk to the patient and the best outcome possible and X-ray is part of that process.
After your first visit
Acclamation period - It is likely that you will experience some level of soreness or discomfort as a result of your first treatment or after a long gap in treatment. The period will usually last 3 to 5 days with soreness peaking 2 days after. Conditions like Fibromyalgia and other autoimmune conditions or diseases will prolong that period and if you have any of those conditions you will need to notify the treating chiropractic physician. This will likely affect the treatment frequency of your treatment plan.
